Dr. Mitchell was raised in
Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Piper High School.
Dr. Mitchell has been
in the education field 20 years. He received his undergraduate degree from
Kansas State University in secondary education. He received both his Master's
degree and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the
University of Missouri at Kansas City. He received his Doctorate degree in
Educational Leadership and Policy Study from Saint Louis University in St. Louis
Missouri. Dr. Mitchell has been a classroom teacher (social studies) in our
school district (8 years) as well as an assistant principal in the Kansas City,
Missouri School District and in the North Kansas City Missouri School District.
This year he will begin his 7th year as principal of Northwest. Dr. Mitchell is also the youth director in his church. He has one brother and
one sister and is married. He and his wife are the parents of a daughter and son.
Dr. Mitchell believes that students from Northwest deserve the best and that they
WILL get the best.
